Reflection 2018

This year I have enjoyed playing hockey with our couch Mike because he teaches us how to hold the hockey stick and teaches us hockey skills.

Celebrating Christmas

  

We are learning to find out how other countries celebrate Christmas.

I found it a bit hard because I  didn't know what the other countries eat for their Christmas.
Next time I will try and work harder to try and get the answers more quickly. 

Miranda Hot pools

On Wednesday we had a school wide trip to the Miranda hot springs.

It was a lot of fun and there was no sign of rain.

Next time we will be going on a steam train and go to the petting farm. 

My digital Christmas Tree

 

We are learning how to make our own Christmas tree.

I found it hard because I didn't  know what pattern to do.

Next time I will post a animation about Santa Claus.

Look at me now graduation

 

On Thursday we had a look at me now graduation.

It was a lot of fun being there because my friend chose me to be at her graduation.

Next time I hope I will be in look at me now so can go on all the cool trips they went on.

Hockey sessions

 On Friday we had a hockey session with a man named Mark he is a nice guy. I found it pretty easy to play hockey even though I've never played before. Next time I will post some more of the hockey games that we were playing.


It was a lot of fun I really enjoyed it. It was also good trying to learn some of the hockey skills.

DISCO NIGHT

We had a night disco on Wednesday it started at 5:00clock and ended at 7:00clock
It was a really cool night away from my siblings.
next time I will post something of a day disco instead of a Night disco.

Wig Wenesday

 

On Wednesday we had a donation for the people and children with cancer. As you can see the kids that wear clothes brang wigs to school. But some of the kids that didn't take wigs got given some to use from the teacher.

Concrete

We are learning how to make concrete in my class.

I found it hard because my bowl was to watery and I couldn't do anything about it because it was time to pack up.

Next time I would like to post something of making a board.

Fun Wednesday

On Wednesday we had tabloids with the Northern Stars. It was a fun Wednesday but I got really tired and hot because I had my long sleeve top on. When we got out on the field it started to spit a little bit then it stop.  

 And plus if it keeped on spitting then we still would of had a great day. It didn't rain at all when we got on the field so the good for all of us. before the bell went so we could go home we had a game of tug of war it was a lot of fun.

Queens Birthday

We are learning about the Queen's birthday. 

I found it hard cause I never researched about the Queen's birthday before.

Next time I will post something about Australia.

Fractions - Maths

We are learning about fractions.

I found it easy because. I find fractions a bit easy but when your not use to them you will need more help.

Next time we will post something about the numerator and the denominator.

Mixing substances - Concrete

We are learning how to mix a cement and black sand to make concrete. 

I found it a bit easy cause it was easy to keep in time by listening to the teacher who was telling the instructions.

Next time we will be making a pencil holder using concrete.

Modifying images

WALHT modify an image for reuse. This could be by using a polyline to change the color in a shape. 

I learnt  that you can use a poly line to change a image. I changed the pompom and added a smiley face. I found it tricky to stay in the line. Next time I will make sure I stay in the line.

Ignoring zeros

We are learning ignoring zeros. I found it easy because I knew what to say. Next time I would like to do a screen castify on doubling.

Auckland Zoo - Community

                                 Zoo Story

On Wednesday we went to the zoo and we looked at a lot of animals. When we went to see the giraffe he licked my hand it was pretty funny. After that we went to go see the Lion he was sleeping then he woke up. When he woke up we sang the song, the lion sleeps tonight. Then we had to go back to the meeting spot to have our morning tea after that we went to do more exploring we looked at the Alligators on was in the mucky green water and one was on the grass they weren't moving at all it was like they were fake. Then we had to go sit where we got dropped off where the bus would be, then we said thank you and left in the bus.

We are learning about what animals do when they are distracted by people and children.

I found out that tigers are more dangerous then lions because the tigers live in a dome and the lions live out side with out a dome.

Next time I would like to post something about maranda pools because we are going there at the end of next term.

Cross Country Day

It was my turn we had to take mark Miss Castle clapped the clappers and we left. All the year 5 girls were running we ran on the sidewalk and ran on the field. But when we were going on the back paddock I saw a black thing I looked at it. He chased me, when he got all puffed out he roared that made me scared because he had sharp teeth and sharp claws. So I keep running then he keeped running and chasing after me. I looked back and I saw it was a black panther it was roaring for along time but it was for a minute then he stopped I ran out of the back paddock and ran to the rugby post. When we ran through the rugby post there were obstacles and the black panther was sitting under the tree when he saw me he chased after me I ran as fast as I could went through the tires over the blue beams and through the finish line. At the end there was a teacher to write your name and what you came and if you came 1st, 2nd or 3rd you had to go set back under the gazebo. When I got to the finish line I got my number on my hand and the teacher wrote my name and my number down on the paper and then I went under the gazebo.

We are learning how to make a story and add punctuation in our stories. I found it hard and easy, I found it easy because we had to write it on a piece of paper and there was a time limit. I found it hard because I didn't know what to write

Nga To Moko

 

We are learning about Maori designs and what else they do in their culture.

I found out that Maori chiefs earn there tattoos on there face and bodies. 

Next time I would like to do a photo of me with a Ta Moko on my face.

Also I have had a Nga Ta Moko on my chin before cause my Aunty did it. 

Bird beaks

last week we were finding out how bird features effect where they live.
I found out that the birds beaks are different color then there body but they really suet there body.
Next time I am going to post one about there feet.

Reading - Building for the future

I am learning to fix the mistakes in my reading so I get better at reading big words.

I found it easy and embarrassing because I was around my friends and other people.

Next time I would like to make a screencastify of one of the books in the class not on the chrome.

Exotic Animal Rhymes

We are learning what kind of animals are exotic. Exotic means it is not from your country.

I found it a bit hard because I didn't know what animals were exotic to New Zealand.

Next time I would like to post a slide show of a hedgehog.

Native animal rhymes

We are learning to guess what animals are form New Zealand. So this is sort of a game were we have to guess what the animals is. My animal was the fur seal. I found it a bit hard because I didn't really know what animals were native to New Zealand. Next time I would like to do a slide show on all the of the native animals to New zealand

New School Build

 

We are learning how to be patient, right now we are being cramped with 50 students in one hub and we have to wait for the end of the year, I cant wait. 

I am finding it hard to be patient because our new classrooms are going to be even bigger then our old classrooms. 

I hope there wont be a next time. Thank you.

Changing from blue to red

On Friday we had a big change. As you can see in the photos we have red uniform on instead of blue.  I found out that you should always use your manners when you get given stuff. Next time I would post a photo of the new building site.

I found out that we should always look after our uniform even if it  is new or not and other clothing's to.

What is it made of

We are learning what things are made of. Are they made out of Wood, plastic, metal or clay.
I found it a bit tricky because we have never done it before. Next time I would like to learn what dice are made of.

Homai te

We are learning to give things and pass things in Te reo. I found it easy because we have done this before. Next time I would like to say it in Samoan instead.

Netball

On Wednesday the Northen star netballers Paula and Chrissy and  came to our school
we played some call games like whats the time Mr fox. But before we played that we played
a game in a circle and we could chuck the ball to anyone in the circle it was a lot of fun.

Definition for inquiry

We are leaning about definition. I found it a bit tricky because I never done this before. Next time I would like to do it again because it is a lot of fun dong hard work.

Te Reo - where is?

We are learning Te reo. I found it easy because some times when my mum´s family come over we speak moari to them. And my mum is moari. Next time I would like to do more stuff on Te reo moari.

My Goals

Today we were writing our goals what we could achieve. I found out that I have been getting better at reading and answering questions.

Te Reo body parts

Today we are learning about body parts. Next time I would like to learn about the Maori places.

Characteristics

  We are learning about hero's and and how they feel when they are saving people or children. Next time I would like to learn about where they live do they live in there own house or in there head quarters.


   

What Do we know about plants

                                                We have been learning about plants.
                         I found out that plants need the carbon dioxide that we breath out.
                Most of the kids chose fruit the different kind of plants those children got that right.
         Next time I would like to learn about what plants do when they are in the soil and if they could                                                                     be planted it the sand.

3. I found out that rounding up you must always add. And when you are rounding down you must always go back to the number it was on before. 

Samoa Language Week

* We have been learning about Samoa language week.
* I found out that the capital of Samoa is Apia.
* Next time I would like to learn about the Samoan animals.

Science Road show 2018

 

Today we went to Rose hill intermediate school.

And my favorite thing at the Road show was when Sophie the scientific. Used the fire from the candle. 

To make a hole in the piece of metal. This is the metal we use to make our road signs on the streets.  some of our children got to go up and be a assistant.

Whanakitanga Census Information

We have been doing a class census of how we like to learn 22 really like to work in a quiet space.

Whanakitanga Fun Field day

 

I like softball because I get to learn how to throw in a straight line.

It is easy to catch the ball if you have a glove, if you use bare hands it will hurt.

It was a bit hard trying to beat the other schools from around Papakura. But it was a lot of fun playing the other schools.
